The color, the lines, the Buddhist symbology and use as a ritual vessel…it’s extraordinary! The Asian is so very fortunate to have guardianship of it. It’s an international rock star in my book!

Lina Blanco – The Hindu deities Krishna and Satyabhama riding Garuda
I love this because it feels like a dream–the placement in the top frame and the surrounding sky makes me feel like I’M flying. The color is rich and vibrant and while it’s a pretty involved illustration, it has such perfect balance and simplicity.
Nazneen Spliedt – Ewer with lid
Unique glaze and symmetric shape. It speaks to me about order and a contemplative state of mind.
Mary Efferen – The envoy Su Wu herding goats
Such serenity, and such artistic skills.
Dorla Cantu – Vessel in the shape of a duck
It is mesmerizing
Henny Tanudjaja – Seated Buddha
Ah…one of our pride and joy pieces. What’s not to like?
Silvia Chang – The Buddha Amitabha with the eight great bodhisattvas
I love this for its rarity and beautiful details.
Rahim Adatia – Cosmological painting
Digging the interplay of art and science
Carolyn Fitz – Pine in snow with bird
I absolutely love all of the Lingnan style paintings, especially painted by Chao Shao An. Love the strong, bold, loose and confident strokes. I spent much time (studying) in the alcove of his paintings when I visited your museum.
DeeAnna Galbraith – Dish with horse and cheetah
Such beautiful balance and symbolism
